Stypendia Ernest Solvay Foundation

Scholarships provided by the Ernest Solvay Foundation as part of the Association for the Promotion of Sciences and Humanities in Germany.
The scholarships support those studing the subjects of Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering or Technical Chemistry at German universities (where German is the primary language used for teaching) to spend some time studying abroad. It also enables students from Eastern and Central European countries to spend a research semester at a university in Germany.

Support is available to students approaching the end of their Diploma, Master or Bachelor studies; preferably those who carry out a course work project at a foreign university. Excellent results during the courses so far and good foreign language skills are essential.

From 2007, support will also be offered to students from Eastern and Central European countries, who would like to spend a research semester at a university in Germany as part of their Diploma or Master studies.

We want to point out an actual supplement concerning the scholarship of the foundation: in compliance with the existing terms of granting scholarships, projects which focus on Energy Storage, Renewable Energy and Materials for Electronics (Printed Electronics) would be appreciated.

The scholarship consists of a contribution to travelling expenses and an appropriate grant to cover living costs for up to six months. The stay at the university abroad can begin at the earliest 2 months after the mentioned deadlines.
